JS PROM: A MEMORABLE HIGH SCHOOL EVENT

Prom is a time when we all dress up and celebrate the joys of High School. It is one of the most anticipated and most memorable high school events. The word PROM comes from the French word “promenade”, which means walk or stroll. It is a formal dance or gathering of high school students which is typically held at the end of junior or senior high.

The 3rd year and 4th year students of St. Paul celebrated their Prom Night last February 6, 2010 at Casino Espanol Cebu City. The event which started around 7-8 o’clock in the evening was the first in St. Paul history. It lasted for more than 3 hours. Different ceremonial activities were held like the Cotillion, Turn-over of Responsibilities, giving of candles from the 4th year to the 3rd year, last will and testament, prophesies and many more. The event was hosted by 3rd year Minwoo Nam and 4th year Arianna Gaviola. There were intermission numbers done by both years which showed their prowess in the art of music. The night was truly memorable for all.
