Health is Wealth!

Truly indeed, one’s health is most precious fortune in our lives. With this, St. Paul Learning Center held the Nutrition month celebration for the whole month of July 2007. This year’s nutrition month celebration carries the theme: “Healthy Lifestyle ng Kabataan, Landas sa Kinabukasan”. This event aims to advocate to the students the healthy practices of eating the right kinds of food and engaging in some physical activities to make our bodies healthy.

Various activities such as weekly trivia questions and coloring contest which was won by Enza Gaviola , Sophi Nouel Tan and Venz Nikkho Bayer as 1st prize, 2nd prize and 3rd prize winners respectively. On the other hand, students who were competing for the on –the- spot poster making contest were from category C (Gr. 6- 2nd year H.S.). Davy Bolivar grabbed the first place, followed by James Lee as second placer and Levi Bergado third placer.

This celebration also cultivated the composition skills of the Paulinians through the Poem and Essay making contest. These activities were participated in by the students in Category B (Gr. 3-5) and Category C (Gr. 6- 2nd year). Under category C for essay writing contest, Jude Oliver Aves bagged the 1st prize with Joey Carreon and Steven Taylor as 2nd and 3rd prize winners respectivelly. Paulinians love to write poems as Julia Park from grade 6 rose above among the others together with Davy Jones Bolivar and Ariana Gaviola both are from 2nd year highschool. Under category B, Ynea Verano from grade 4 class won 1st prize in both poem and essay writing contest – Such a talented student indeed!

During the culminating program held on July 27, 2007, the St. Paul community was filled with healthy smiles and laughter as they enjoyed the games such as vegetable eating contest-(hmmm… yummy!), food classifying game, vegetable planting game and many others. And not only that, the high school students had their cooking and food preparation demonstration too. The highlight of the program was the Jingle -making contest in which classes from grade school to high school spent time and energy and … pure talent to win in their respective categories. They presented their medley of homemade jingles before the crowd and judges. And the winners are… tararan! … Grade 1B (Category A), Grade 4 (Category B) and 2nd year high school (Category C). The nutrition month celebration was successful! Above all, we must instill in our minds and heart the value of habitually taking good care of our health by eating only nutritious foods and engaging in healthy physical activities.
